Testing and Maintaining Power Transformers

This hands-on course provides detailed testing procedures and operational cautions technicians must have when performing field- testing of transformers. This course covers oil and dry-type transformers used in most commercial and utility-type installations. Beginning with safety, the course progresses through components, nameplate data, de and ac testing, routine inspections, oil sampling and testing, all of which are covered in detail. Students will perform routine oil tests and all major electrical tests typically performed in the field.
