DESCRIPTION:TUITION: $1\,760*\nDURATION: 4.0 Days (32 hours\, 8am – 4pm)\nCEU: 3.2 Units\nPREREQUISITES: Students should have basic electrical training\, some field experience and basic knowledge of switchgear. \nCOURSE DESCRIPTION: \nThis class provides the information and hands-on training to test and maintain most of the major components of the substation except for the main transformer and protective relays. It includes Hands-on (~40%) training augmented with round-table discussions. \n*Tuition price is for open enrollments\, does not include costs for on-site bookings. \nCOURSE LEARNING OBJECTIVES: \n\nTheory\, construction and operation of common types of medium voltage metal-enclosed switchgear and circuit breakers\, including air-magnetic and vacuum.\nInterpret ratings and nameplate data to identify breaker ratings and limitations.\nUnderstand how med-voltage circuit breakers operate and know the causes of failure.\nSafety requirements when operating\, racking\, testing or maintaining breakers.\nRequired testing and maintenance of medium-voltage metal-enclosed circuit breakers\, and switchgear in accordance with ANSI/NETA MTS.\nTests commonly performed on circuit breakers and their associated\nswitchgear.\nMaintain station batteries in accordance with ANSI/NETA MTS.\nGround testing theory and interpreting test results in accordance with ANSI/ NETA MTS.\nHow to download and distribute Schweitzer (SEL) relay event files.\n\nHands-on Lab Session: \n\nRacking circuit breakers.\nPerform and evaluate common circuit breaker electrical tests including insulation resistance\, DC overpotential\, contact resistance\, insulation power factor and timing utilizing equipment from a variety of manufacturers.\nPerform routine maintenance on medium-voltage air and vacuum circuit breakers.\nPerform clamp-on ground test and interpret the results.\nTest and evaluate battery systems.\nPerform fall-of-potential ground test and interpret results.\n\nCONTACT US TO BOOK YOUR NEXT SESSION! \nGet personalized support and guidance for your team at your plant or ours!
